John spent 25 years owning and managing an intensive grazing property in the South East of South Australia. He then diversified into commercial fishing in both the Southern and Eastern Shark fishery and the Snapper Long-line fishery. He was instrumental in the development of Goolwa PipiCo, a shell fish fishery, process packaging and marketing company in Port Elliot, South Australia.

Since then, he has been developing land on the Fleurieu Penninsula project managing and constructing commercial warehousing, of which one warehouse is now home to The NEBB Whisky Barrel Shed. John has always had a very keen interest in wine and all things whisky, driven and motivated by original and founding NEBB Whisky entrepreneur, Nick Wickham.

From CEO of Diverse Barrel Solutions to importer and distributor of Legrand Barrels and oak products. Nick has made excellent wines with partners in McLaren’s vale and Margret River. Nick has made the decision to leave NEBB Whisky as a shareholder to pursue his Recruitment Business, but remains a consultant to NEBB Whisky Barrels as a flavour profiler, barrel procurement and blending.

Like John, he has a love of whisky and the stories behind the bottles, an interest founded during his days living and travelling in and around the UK, Europe, and Asia in the 1980’s.
